What's up Fam its time to Abide, Its been a minute but we're back, and we are ready to get to it. On this episode FWD3, we briefly talk about Generosity and the importance of giving back. We also review the financial word of the day which is Save. The girls and I discuss some of the main reasons to save such as to acquire something you want and in preparation for an emergency. Teaching them about life is not all Financial they get to experience their first official football game at the Mecca (a victory) and celebrate Homecoming Saturday on Mommy's birthday.

This is a special pre-graduation episode of Family Abide. During the show, we talk about the importance of working hard to achieve a goal and the significance of a cap and gown. Like Eric Thomas says in his new book it s important to match the power of education, with expression and excellence to unlock its potential to truly change communities. Following graduation, we will do an episode to see how their experiences match up with what they actually see. We also discuss the new financial Word of the day which is employee. We review the definition of an employee from sense to cents which is “a person who works for another person or business.” We also discuss tangible examples of employees that the girls encounter frequently like teachers and the concept of receiving payment with work. Before, we end the episode I tell Divine that while working as an employee you help the employer obtain their vision, and employees plays an important part to bring vision into reality with hard work. The last thing we talk about is associating allowance with performance and work.

Frustration or fear are two of the strongest emotion. During today’s episode, we talked to Steve Conti a sports massage Specialist for the US women’s national soccer team, the University of Maryland Athletics, and owner of Tocar Spa and Sport about how these competing mindsets shaped his path toward becoming an entrepreneur.
He also gives us insight into his process of getting involved and winning multiple grants and Accelerators like HoCo Higher, by being an active participant in your local chamber of Commerce.
Last but not least Steve also shares his childhood experiences with money, and the practical conversations he will focus on now as a father with his own daughter. The Yard can be defined as the main quad of open space located on the Campus of Howard University. However, the Yards' definition can not be limited to a location on a map, because it is so much more. The Yard is a marketplace of ideas that becomes a spiritual place embedded within our souls that shapes our thoughts, ideas, and actions as we mature into adulthood. Family Abides' version of the yard seeks to cultivate a similar environment where a Husband and Wife discuss Faith, Family, and Finance and the intersectionality of all three.
On this platform, we will discuss how our values shape our interaction with the culture. Give you insight into our productive struggle of melding two different upbringing into one cohesive unit for our children, and try not to tap dance around current topics that impact our household.
