Meet Ben Bell, the young spark setting the political stage alight in the small conservative town of Gore. At just 23, he's making waves as the youngest mayor in the country with his unique 'back to basics' platform and fresh perspective on democracy. Despite battling an entrenched old boys club and facing substantial pressures and expectations, Bell stands firm.

Our conversation takes a deep dive into the challenges Bell faced on his path to becoming mayor, the public's perception of the personality clash, and his relationship with the Chief Executive. We also touch on his goals to draw more young people to settle in Gore.

Don't miss the chance to join me on this enlightening journey through small-town politics, youth leadership, and the vibrant future of Gore!

There's nothing quite like getting into the nitty-gritty of life's real challenges. The kind that knocks you down, but also inspires you to rise again. Today, we pull back the curtains on one such tale, as I sit down with Janet Thompson, New Zealand's only self-proclaimed, addiction interventionist.

Janet takes us through her own harrowing journey with alcoholism, her struggle against societal stigma, and the breathtaking courage it took for her to seek help. Her story is not just a testament to her strength, but also a guiding light for others battling addiction. She has been there and done that, and now wants to help.

I also look at the ever-evolving world of podcasting. It's truly fascinating to witness how the digital age has revolutionized this industry, opening up platforms and opportunities that were once unimaginable. As we chart our course into the future, I would like to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude to my listeners for your unwavering support. Without you this wouldn't be possible and I am truly grateful

Tem wears many hats - a dad, an actor, and a proud Kiwi - but has he been able to shake the 'Jake the Muss' tag? We unpack his journey and share some hearty laughs while discussing his career and his unique take on aging and the future.

Plus, we've got plenty of political chit chat, as I look at Labour's internal divisions, the implications of Luxon's position, Parker's resignation, and what the upcoming election might mean for New Zealand. So, buckle up and enjoy the ride!

A few days before last Xmas, Louise (not her real name) gave a thumbs down signal to a police officer. What followed has lead to her heading to court facing four charges, and has left her seriously traumatised.

The Independent Police Conduct Authority are looking into her case but it once again raises the issue of justifiable force vs 'police to peace'.

How hard is it for our police officers to get the balance right? Could this happen to any of us?

My esteemed guest today is none other than Geoff Ross. Formally a vodka brand genius, he is now a trailblazing farmer from who's on a mission to revolutionize the way we think about farming. His journey is an inspiring one, though it has not been without controversy.

Our conversation provides a fresh perspective on farming, debunking many misconceptions. We look at animal welfare practices, transparency, and biodiversity; and discuss the pressures the Ross family have encountered in ushering changes to conventional farming methods, their ambitious goal of becoming the first carbon-neutral farm, and the significant investments they've made to achieve this feat.

New Zealand needs people like Geoff Ross. They are vital if we are to continue to innovate and be truly world-leading.

We pull back the curtain on the escalating and very real crisis in the aged care sector in New Zealand. I'm joined by Katherine Rich, the interim chief executive of the Aged Care Association, who reveals the shocking truths about the current state of our aged care industry.

With the lack of standard rooms built in the past decade, we're facing an extreme shortage of aged care beds by 2040, a problem further exacerbated by the projected rise in New Zealand's elderly population.

What are the impacts of the rising costs of aged care on New Zealanders, and the consequences of government funding falling short of these increasing costs? With many New Zealanders unprepared for the surging number of older citizens, the lack of planning and resources for elderly care becomes even more glaring.

This is a conversation every New Zealander needs to hear.
