We've had some crazy stuff going on in our lives, but that won't stop us from bringing you the 2-star content you know and love(?)! This episode is full of ghosts, and men, and honestly we don't know which is scarier? In honor of Women's History Month, Sarah starts us out with not one, but two stories about ghost women. Though they may be spirits, even in life and death we have to say 'good for her'. Stephanie finishes off the episode with a story where no one dies! But a white man is on his bullshit, and does con multiple people out of more money than anyone would have guessed. Who is Zach Horwitz and who is Zach Avery, and why have we never seen them in the same room at the same time?? On a separate note, we seem to be catching these weird noises (or transmissions?) in our audio. We can't quite make out what it is... if you can understand it, please let us know! And we're still looking for Kristina and we're starting to get a little worried. So if you hear from her, or have any idea where she got of to, hit us up!

Deadtime Storiez - E204 You Don't Know Him, He Goes To A Different School
play

04/14/22 • 64 min

We're BAACCKK! And we're bringing you an abandoned hospital that's overrun with ghosts, and a semi-controversial true crime story that's bound to start a conversation. Sarah starts the episode with the incredibly haunted Old Changi Hospital in Singapore, China. Build in 1935 this hospital soon found itself being used to harm people instead of treat them. Rumored to have housed POW's as well as the "notorious Kempeitai" (the Japanese military police, which also played the role of that of a secret police) a group that tortured and killed many people (including the POWs) imprisoned in the hospital. With a backstory like that, you KNOW its full of ghosts - and it is. Stephanie wraps up the episode with the true crime case that inspired the most recent Hulu drama "The Girl From Plainville". It's the tale of Michelle Carter and Conrad Roy III. You might remember this case because it was all over the media, because after Conrad took his life it came out that Michelle had been texting, messaging, and talking to Conrad about doing so. Some believe she did it maliciously and should be held accountable for his suicide - while others think this was a terrible story of two mentally unwell teenagers and an incredibly unfortunate situation. What do YOU think? Should Michelle take the blame for Conrad's death? Leave us a comment and let us know!

Deadtime Storiez - E187 We're Choosing Chaos {magic} Today!
play

12/16/21 • 42 min

Hey Idiots! *just kidding, we love ya'll!! We're back and in a chaotic mood this week, so buckle up. Stephanie is continuing her Witchy-series with a focus on the Tarot cards themselves. What does each card represent, and how could that possibly be applied to your life? Tune in to find out! Sarah wraps up with another weird-world, odd history tale. We're calling this "The Fiasco That Was The Marathon at The 1904 Olympics". And fiasco could be an understatement: Between your 1st place winner not technically winning, the 2nd place winner on a cocktail of drugs, and runners dropping out due to extreme heat and lack of hydration, this race is certainly one for the history books. Though, not in the way anyone would have intended. The holidays are coming up and you can give us the greatest gift of all without spending a penny: please jump over on whatever platform you prefer and leave us a 5-star review. Every little bit really does go a long way.

Deadtime Storiez - E198 I'm Just An Adult And My Life Is A Nightmare
play

03/03/22 • 45 min

We're still flying high from our live-show, and we're also remote recording! (so please forgive the audio quality). This week's first story comes with a **trigger warning** because Stephanie is talking about the "Troubled Teen Industry". In the early 2000-2010's you could find "troubled teens" all over daytime television (catch me outside, how 'bout that?). But the darker underbelly are the "schools" that exists to help "fix, or cure" these teens. Basically one big campus of Scared Straight, these schools are known for snatching kids in the middle of the night to whisk them away where they will be broken down until deemed ready to re-enter society. ......messed up right? ....well, what if we told you that many of those schools are still open and running to-this-day.... Sarah ends things on a lighter note with a ghost story from Dead Man's Canyon, Colorado. After getting an axe to the forehead, William Harkins was rightfully pissed. So pissed, that he decided to stick around and dish that piss poor attitude out to any passerbys. Sometimes throwing riders off their horses, tossing them in the creek, or just sprinting toward them: William Harkins is not a ghost you want to meet. And now that I think about it, he also has an axe STILL in his head! slight **trigger warning** on Sarah's story - www.doesthedogdie.com ----- let's just say, the canyon should have been called "Dead Man's (Best Friend) Canyon.

Deadtime Storiez - E199 Catch Him If You Can, How 'bout Dat?
play

03/10/22 • 67 min

With 200 episodes under our belt, it's amazing that Stephanie and Sarah never shown up with the same story to tell ---- but they do get close. Like this week! This week is all about con-men, scam artists, scum bags (and we promise we didn't plan our topics together! It's just telepathic at this point). Sarah starts off with the Deadtime Storiez SparkNotez of a story from Netflix's new show: Worst Roommate Ever. And by "Worst" roommate, we don't mean they drank the last of the milk but put the empty carton back in the fridge....we mean they ruined (and ended) peoples lives. AND - this story takes place in Sarah and Stephanie's own backyard. Jed Creek, aka Jamison Bachman, responded to a craiglist posting looking for a roommate in Chestnut Hill, PA. Little did that roommate know, once Jed (Jamison) entered your life...it would take hell to get him out. Stephanie wraps up with one of the most notable con-men stories out there, and the basis for the 2002 film "Catch Me If You Can". The story of Frank Abagnale, Jr who went from lying about being a Pilot, to lying about being a Doctor, to lying about being a Professor: and the list goes on. But we can promise you'll never guess his biggest con of all..... take a listen to find out!

IT'S FINALLY HERE!! The day you've all been waiting for (we assume). HAPPY 200 EPISODES OF DEADTIME STORIEZ! As promised this weeks episode is the audio from our live show, Alive At Last! Sarah starts us out with a local ghost story from Easton, Pennsylvania. Getter's Island is a small 6 acre island in the Delaware river off the coast of Easton, PA. It once housed a lumber mill, swimming ponds, the beginnings of a theme park, AND.... an execution. (hence the ghost) *because this was told to a live audience, there are sight-gags that are unfortunately unable to translate to this medium* Stephanie finishes off on a high note, telling us about The Worst Year To Be Alive! According to science. And we know what you're thinking..no, it's not 2020. Try going back just a few years...to 536A.D. Listen to why this was such a terrible, horrible, no good, worst year ever! And if you want to partake in those sight gags - don't worry! We recorded the entire live show (because you know things were cut out of the episode *wink wink*). Deadtime Storiez - E190 Love Actually: A Ghost
play

01/06/22 • 41 min

Happy New Year!! It's a new year, but it feels like deja vu because we're recording remotely (again)! Forgive us for the audio hiccups, much like the American school system, we've been spoiled to our in-person recording. However, all recording bumps aside, we're very excited to start the year off with one of our dearest guests: Mariangela!! Mariangela is here to tell us the real story behind one of our favorite childhood animated movies. Much darker than the film portrays (even though the movie is quick macabre) is the true tale of Anastasia, Grand Duchess of Russia. But, in true Mariangela fashion, there is more to this story than just the facts. Mariangela has a personal tie to the lost princess story... but you'll have to listen to learn more. *News! It might be a new year, but it certainly has a feeling of DejaVu - because we're still recording remotely! So, please forgive our audio quality as we try to re-learn remote recording. Are ya'll ready to talk about some ghosts?? Because Sarah is! This week is the tale of the Ancient Ram Inn "Ghosts-Pagans-Succubus OH MY" The Ancient Ram Inn is almost 1000 years old and has the spooky history to prove it. Built upon a Pagan burial ground, this home boasts over 90 resident ghosts. With an open grave in the kitchen, no running water, and a multitude of paranormal activity: what more could you ask for in a haunted inn? Stephanie ends the episode talking about a new (to us) cult: The Unification Church. Also known in the U.S. as "The Moonies", this church came to the Americas from Korea and has some dangerous ideologies. After the original leader died, some of his children broke off to form their own sects - one of which will be covered in next week's episode. And that sect seems to be the most dangerous of all...

Deadtime Storiez - E185 Waco Pt. 2: And....No One Came Out
play

12/02/21 • 41 min

It's here - the finale of the Waco Siege Saga. That's a mouthful, and so is this episode! Which is why we skip the banter and get right into the story: The last fateful day of the Waco standoff. After 50 days the ATF and FBI are determined to put an end to this standoff; unfortunately it would also lead to the end of 76 lives. There are still many questions about what exactly happened that last day, but the most pressing one is: who started the fire. We have our theories, but what are yours? *reminder...we're [still] not sponsored by Dr. Pepper....yet
