play

11/02/21 • 91 min

Louis brings forth one of his childhood (and mid 20's) favourites, the BBC (and Channel 5) series Robot Wars, where people put their metallic and robotic creations to the test in a series of fights until there can be only one. Louis details his many reasons why the show brought him much joy. He even finds a way to settle some old emotional scores with some of the more controversial moments on the show.
Louis also blesses/curses us with multiple impersonations, and even, in keeping with the show being discussed, some poems.

Put out the good cutlery, as we feast on the delicious flesh that is the TV series Hannibal, starring Mads Mikkelsen. Kate serves up a well seasoned, well done slice of podcast pie, as she tells Louis all about her love of this delectably nasty confection.
Be sure to wash this one down with some fava beans and a fine chianti.

Content warning: cannibalism.

Darling, Why? - 11: Demolition Man

11: Demolition Man

Darling, Why?

play

03/23/21 • 58 min

In this episode, Louis has picked the 1993 Sci-fi action film Demolition Man. Louis and Kate run through some plot, mixed in with an important discussion about the real issues that plague 2032 San Angeles, like how do the three seashells work, and how Taco Bell conquered all other chain restaurants. This strange, peculiar film is what is known to Louis as an "ITV classic", in that he first saw it on ITV as a youth. He promises it won't be the last time we get one of these picks either!

The management would like to ask you to enhance your calm before listening. Be well!

Darling, Why? - 10: Ghost - Prequelle
play

03/16/21 • 57 min

In this episode, Kate (and to be fair, Louis as well) gets very excited talking about Prequelle, the 4th album from the Swedish rock band. They talk about the incredibly vivid and humorous world that the group have built over time, how at least half the podcast feels like this album is structurally similar to a musical how much the singer looks like a certain British light entertainer and the absolutely glorious live show. Also, saxophones and tricycles and some fab-u-lous choreo! They even talk about the songs and lyrics, like its a real podcast and everything.
