We're joined in the episode by Dr. Katherine Ramsland who weighs in with her thoughts on Zodiac. Expect to hear more from Dr. Ramsland and other experts in their field as this season of Criminology unfolds. The hunt for the Zodiac is just beginning.

Criminology - Zodiac's Riverside Roots Examined
play

09/16/17 • 43 min

In this episode, we continue the examination into Zodiac's connection with the murder of Cheri Jo Bates in Riverside, CA. We dissect the letter that was mailed to both the police and the paper about a month after Cheri's death. Then we discuss a poem that was found on a desk at the Riverside Community College where Cheri attended. Was this poem an early work of the Zodiac and if so what clues does it present as to who the Zodiac could be? As time goes by the papers put out articles on the anniversaries of Cheri's murder talking about the state of the case and the investigation. These spark communication from someone claiming to be the murderer.

She remained missing for 13 years, until in May 2022, when her body was found. 62-year-old Raymond Moody led the police to Brittanee's body and confessed to her murder. Moody was on police radar but they couldn't put anything solid together against him.

Join Mike and Morf as they discuss the disappearance of Brittanee Drexel. Brittanee lied to her mother so that she could go on a trip to Myrtle Beach with some other teenagers. When Brittanee stopped picking up the phone, her boyfriend got worried and told Brittanee's mother Dawn the truth. Dawn frantically began the search for her daughter, moving to South Carolina over the years. Police couldn't solve the case until Raymond Moody came forward. But, many questions remain. Why did he confess to the crime and lead authorities to Brittanee's body? Moody has not had his day in court, so it's possible that the answers to some questions will come out later.

02/18/24 • 63 min

In 2012, Cari Farver was a 37-year-old single mother living in Iowa. She met Dave Kroupa on a dating website, and the two hit it off. But very soon into the relationship, Dave began receiving hateful messages from Cari. Then, the messages turned into stalking.

Join Mike and Morf as they discuss Cari Farver. It wasn't just Dave Kroupa who was receiving threatening messages from Cari. Liz Golyar, whom Dave had dated before Cari, also began receiving them. This went on for years. There was one big problem, though, because although Cari was thought to be sending messages to people, no one had seen her in person over the years. It took multiple agencies to put the pieces of the puzzle together, and what they found out astounded everyone.
