In August, the racing world will once again turn its eyes to Daytona Beach as the World Center of Racing hosts the Coke Zero Sugar 400. That’s one of many activities held at Daytona International Speedway each year. Many are racing oriented, while others bring music festivals, boat shows, and corporate events to life at the iconic, world-renown location. June marks the beginning of hurricane season each year. It’s when Floridians look for predictions from weather experts and hope the state is spared from direct impacts. In this episode of the Crest of the Wave, we’ll talk with Volusia County Emergency Management Director Clint Mecham. We’ll ask him about his transition from Utah to the Sunshine State, and get his tips to help local businesses withstand a hurricane and what you need to know before, during, and after a storm.

In 2023, the Florida Legislature passed the REACH Act 2.0, a wide-reaching bill significantly impacting workforce & education throughout the state.
