We talk a lot about mental health when we talk about creativity. Writers, artists, and musicians are often as remembered for their difficulties as they are for their work. In fact, this is one of the most popular research topics related to human creativity.
Recently I decided to take some time away from social media because of my mental health. Between the pandemic, my ongoing struggles, and the constant messaging from those channels, I found myself falling deeper and deeper down a hole.
It's something I have gotten used to dealing with.
I've lived with mental health issues my entire life. I've also been a creative for most of that time. So I wanted to take some time and have a conversation with my friend and colleague, Georgia Hertz, about being a creative with mental health issues.
