Have you ever wondered how to get your ‘in’ in a company? What qualifies one candidate above another in a given job search?
If so, you’re not alone. After all, in a sea of resumes, standing out can seem impossible with many applications desperate for a hook or a lead. But as I’ve been telling college graduates these days, if you want to help your chances, you must be willing to meet people and take a personalized approach to networking. Even if you have to associate outside your comfort zone, to catch your first break, often that’s the place you want to be.
As I discuss this episode, many are those who are qualified but far less are those who differentiate by seeking advice. By seeking to make meaningful connections, you’ll ultimately give yourself the advantage you crave in landing your dream job.
