J is for Journaling
Becoming Trauma-Informed

J is for Journaling
In this episode, Dr Lee talks about the difference between journaling and keeping a diary (huge difference).
She also addresses some of the common struggles people experience around journaling, as well as her own favorite way to journal, and why it's so important.
This is the one mindset practice that has made the BIGGEST difference for Dr Lee, AND the one that her brain kicks up the biggest resistance to.
Dr Lee really breaks it down and provides a clear insight into how to develop a journaling practice that allows you to reflect, looking at the things your brain doesn't want you to look at. The key is to be able to process your thoughts, see patterns, see your limiting beliefs, celebrate your wins, and so much more.

E is for Energy
Becoming Trauma-Informed
03/15/21 • 29 min
E is for Energy...
...but not in the way you may think.
In this episode, Dr Lee talks about Hustle and Flow energy and how we as humans show up energetically.
We have an epidemic of hustle in our Western culture, especially as it relates to how women engage in their day to day. We've been told hustle is how to get things done, and have traditionally shunned the more "feminine" energy when it comes to being productive.
However, when we are able to balance our Hustle and Flow energy, we can create magic, especially as women and women entrepreneurs, and we ultimately have the power to heal the world.
When these energies are out of balance...well, that's when things get messed up. And that's a key problem with society today -- it's taught so many women to operate primarily from Hustle energy. As a result, many women have rejected "the Hustle"...and then they can get lost in Flow.
Using the analogy of a river and river bed, Dr Lee beautifully explains why both energies are essential and what you can do to regulate them.

Laura's personal journey of transformation began with a life-threatening bout of sepsis. We dive into her captivating story, discussing how we can connect with our energy and soul to achieve the pinnacle of wellness and authenticity. We also tackle the concept of mental wellbeing, offering a fresh perspective on being “toasty” versus being “toast”.

We look at how trauma can often leave us feeling victimized, but it's through navigating these challenging experiences that we find a path to empowerment. Laura provides unique insights into how personal trauma journeys should be respected and recognized for their crucial role in grounding us in the human experience. We also explore how spirituality and personal beliefs intertwine and how these connections can be harnessed for healing and growth.
Lastly, Laura shares her particular knack for helping people who feel stuck to better understand themselves and foster their spiritual connections.
