For episode 20 of the "50 Baptist You Should Know" Series, we will explore the life and ministry of George Liele (1750 - 1828). Born a slave, George was saved attending the church of his master, Deacon Henry Sharp. During his life, God used Liele to found the First African Baptist Church of Savannah, Georgia, which still holds services today. God also used him to see thousands saved in his ministry to the slaves of Jamaica. It is also said he is the first ministry to reach back to the continent of Africa with the Gospel.
