Former UConn great Jerome Dyson is the latest guest on Ball Movement! In Part 1, Jerome talks about his younger years learning the game, his college experience at UConn, what it was like playing with lots of future pros, how much involvement Jim Calhoun had during his pre-draft process, what it was like to play in the NBA D League, and his experience in the NBA. Jerome talks about what it's like going to play in a country experiencing political unrest or even on the brink of potential war, picking countries that were Americanized to make the transition easier, using your leverage to make sure teams honor contracts, and his worst overseas situation. He also shares what it was like playing in China, experiencing an injury abroad, having to play a game right after getting off the plane, and the best advice he received and would give. Once again, he tells some incredibly interesting stories that paint an accurate picture of what players experience internationally. Isaiah Reese (@isaiahreese13) led his 2017-2018 Canisius team in minutes, rebounds, steals, assists, and three-pointers made. He recorded the first triple double in school history before making the 2017-2018 All-MAAC First Team and earning 2018-2019 MAAC Preseason Player of the Year honors. He eventually spent two seasons in the G League for the Santa Cruz Warriors (the Golden State affiliate) before heading overseas. Isaiah currently plays for the London Lions of the British Basketball League (BBL) and FIBA Europe Cup. He talks about what it was like coming from a smaller college program, playing NBA Summer League for the Houston Rockets, playing on an absolutely stacked G League team, what the level of play is like in the BBL, and competing in an international competition like the FIBA Europe Cup. We also talk about the time he had 33 points, 10 assists, and 7 rebounds in a Miami Pro League game against a team featuring Bam Adebayo, Duncan Robinson, and Derrick Jones Jr. (who were all on the Miami Heat at the time). Former LSU guard/forward Akilah Bethel joins the show this week. Akilah has had such a unique professional career thus far. She's played in multiple in countries including Puerto Rico, where she was league MVP, and most recently in the Ukraine, which she had to leave due to war with Russia breaking out. She's also a former Harlem Globetrotter and the founder and commissioner of her own summer league, the Bethel League.
