Managing expectations

We all have plans, or so I always thought when I was growing up. I always had such elaborate plans as a child. Plans that were usually geared towards getting me into space. Sadly, I never went to space. Go figure! As I got older, what I wanted in life changed. Okay so not completely, I still want to go to space. But now I have set my sights on some things that are actually within the realms of possibility. I have a family that depends on me. I have clients that depend on me. I have more responsibility than I really feel comfortable with. I feel like it’s a lot of expectation put upon me, that is until it occurs to me that the only expectations put on me are done so by me. In my discussions with other people I have found that the same is true for most of us.
