Prof Peter Rich is Professor of Bioenergetics at UCL. He is interested in energy and how we get energy in our bodies. Prof Rich and his team are looking at the enzyme in our bodies responsible for using the oxygen we breathe and they are trying to understand how this enzyme works and the consequences of any malfunctions. They use very advanced technology to look at this enzyme and use this technology for making simple new devices to go into hospitals for medical diagnostic purposes.
