Somebody pinch me! I can't believe I got to sit down with Ralph Macchio to talk about his incredible legacy and the big dreams that started it all. His new memoir "Waxing On" is full of amazing stories from his star-making performance as The Karate Kid to his epic return as Daniel LaRusso in Cobra Kai. The Karate Kid was one on the first movies I remember seeing in a theatre with my family, so this was a major full circle moment that I will never forget! Today I am beyond honored to talk with a true movie STAR: the one and only Geena Davis! In her new memoir "Dying of Politeness", Geena tells the story of how being polite almost killed her, and the rocky road to becoming a badass in Hollywood (while remaining one of the kindest people you will ever meet). We can all learn a lot from her journey and I can not recommend her book strongly enough. I don't know how, in less than 20 minutes, we were able to chat about everything from her iconic films to her unfortunate experience with Bill Murray to Geena Davis drag queens to how she is quite literally changing the world, but we DID. The recent loss of Olivia Newton-John shook the world and brought a tidal wave of grief and appreciation for this talented and beloved superstar. Back in 2017, I was fortunate enough to have her come into my home studio for a very special interview. I just can't describe what it feels like to have Olivia Newton-John walk into your house! She was one of the kindest, most genuine people I have ever met. No stranger to grief and loss in her own life, Olivia and I talked about her album for those experiencing grief called 'Liv On' with bandmates Amy Sky and Beth Nielsen Chapman. We are also, of course, chatted about 'Grease', her iconic career, played a super fun game and got a mini performance at the end. Every moment of that day was a dream come true.
