100 Words Or Less: The Podcast

Jonah and I have circled the same group of friends for many years, but this was the first time we got a chance to actually sit down and get to know each other! Jonah plays guitar in the awesome band United Nations (with friend of the show Geoff Rickley), a co-host of a fun podcast with his sister called "How Did We Get Weird?" and has been a music writer for Alternative Press and Fuse's "Steven's Untitled Rock Show". Needless to say, he's been around and I was happy to dig into Cleveland hardcore, zine writing and of course, podcasting. Enjoy!

A man of many talents, Geoff Garlock from Orchid, Panthers and his most recent project Low Estate comes to hang with us this week. He's also the host of such podcasts like Docs Till Death and The Cannon Canon so as you can see, he's a busy dude. We discuss his history with comedy, growing up with Connecticut hardcore and the "glory days" of Vice. It's a really fun discussion so pull up a chair and come hang out.

South Florida Straight Edge Metal is fully represented this week in the shape of Cosmo Vidussi from Contention. They released one of my favorite records from last year called "Artillery From Heaven" that is influenced by all of the late 90's stuff we all love, but updates it so it's not only a trip down nostalgia lane. Cosmo was a great chat about all things Florida and it's unique tax laws, being into core as an adult and of course, straight edge.
