ALL OF IT is a show about culture and its consumers. ALL OF IT is a show about culture and context. ALL OF IT is a show about culture and the culture. Our aim is to engage the thinkers, doers, makers, and creators, about the what and why of their work. People make the culture and we hope, need, and want the WNYC community to be a part of our show. As we build a community around ALL OF IT, we know that every guest and listener has an opinion. We won’t always agree, but our varied perspectives and diversity of experience is what makes New York City great. ALL OF IT will be both companion for and curator of the myriad culture this city has to offer. In the words of Cristina De Rossi, anthropologist at Barnet and Southgate College, London: "Culture encompasses religion, food, what we wear, how we wear it, our language, marriage, music, what we believe is right or wrong, how we sit at the table, how we greet visitors, how we behave with loved ones, and a million other things." ...In other words, ALL OF IT. --- Join us for ALL OF IT with Alison Stewart, weekdays from 12:00 - 2:00PM on WNYC.

A podcast about how and why gentrification happens. Season 3, produced in partnership with WLRN, Miami’s public radio station, introduces us to “climate gentrification,” reporting about the ways climate change, and our adaption to it, may seriously intensify the affordable housing crisis in many cities. In many parts of the US, black communities were pushed to low-lying flood prone areas. As Nadege Green reports, in Miami, the opposite is true. Black communities were built on high elevation away from the coast. Now because of sea level rise that high land is in demand. Latest episode 3 years ago

"The Sound of New York City" is a project born from the idea of its founder back in 2006 to encourage the rediscovery of the Disco Sound, including Soul - Funk - House, while at the same time make use of my extensive vinyl collection, much of which was gathered from underground sources, dating back to 1975. In December 2009 the initial project was transformed into a live, 24/7 web radio station: TSoNYCTM The Sound of New York CityTM. The station's programming is based on the history of New York's clubs like “Paradise Garage” and “The Loft”, with their protagonists Larry Levan and David Mancuso, as well as Detroit and Chicago with “The Warehouse” and “The Gallery”, where Frankie Knuckles and Ron Hardy spread their style. The TSoNYC sound includes Nu-Disco and Deep House, showcasing DJ contemporaries such as Moodymann, Danny Krivit, Theo Parrish, LTJ experience, and others who are now contributing to the rediscovery of this immortal music. The growing interest for this genre of music is being demonstrated as our site last year reached more than 14 thousand visitors, with tremendous audiences tuning not only within the USA and Canada, but also in Germany, Greece, Japan, Russia, France, Poland, England and Italy as well. Be sure to check out our podcasts and new track releases on Facebook, iTunes and Podomatic. Each week international guest DJs perform exclusive mixes. Among some of the latest to be featured: Ashley Beedle (UK), Disco Dave (Sweden), Gilo (Italy), Gino Grasso (Italy), Jeff White (Chicago, USA), danyb (Italy), Joseph Colbourne (Boston, USA), Ly Sander (Switzerland), Nicholas (Italy), MichiNYC (Italy), Sauro Cosimetti (Italy), Soulparanos (France), Soulseduction (Greece), Katzuma (Italy), and many others will. These then become mix podcasts that are downloaded more than 3500 times per month on average. The radio can be reached directly from the website or the iTunes Radio under the category 70's music and Electronica Stay Tuned...
