E14 From Hunter to Nature Protectionist in Argentina
Jaime is a wildlife ranger in the province of Entre Ríos. While visiting his reserve and going on a photographic safari, I had a very interesting chat with him, all in Rioplatense Spanish. He told me his story when he was a kid and had to hunt to eat and how he gradually realized the importance of conserving the flora and fauna. He also told me a lot of things about the animals of the region and, for example, what to do if you get bitten by a yarará snake. Can you imagine the answer?

In this episode, I'm going to have a chat in Castellano Rioplatense with Marcelo Lamela. He's going to tell us about the history of Argentine national rock, a unique rock genre in Latin America. Rock in Argentina is much more than music, it is a kind of social struggle and a way of expressing ourselves in tougher political times. Some geniuses of this genre were Charly García, Spinetta and Gustavo Cerati. Learn about this topic and all the vocabulary we use by listening to the interview.
-------------
Marcelo Lamela is a rock and roll lover who over time has become an expert on the subject. He is the founder and director of Rock is Here. He wrote three books about rock, and one of them is about rock and roll in Buenos Aires.
