E13 Argentine Jungle Stories
04/30/21 • 17 min
In this episode, I'll read the Giant Turtle, a story by Horacio Quiroga. It's a story easy to understand and a good start point to introduce you to Argentine literature.
It's about a hunter who's very sick went to the jungle to get better and there he encounters a turtle. What do you think? Are they friends or foes?

When we use this caramel spread? We speak only using Argentine Spanish (Castellano Rioplatense) as we're from the province of Buenos Aires.

E14 From Hunter to Nature Protectionist in Argentina
Jaime is a wildlife ranger in the province of Entre Ríos. While visiting his reserve and going on a photographic safari, I had a very interesting chat with him, all in Rioplatense Spanish. He told me his story when he was a kid and had to hunt to eat and how he gradually realized the importance of conserving the flora and fauna. He also told me a lot of things about the animals of the region and, for example, what to do if you get bitten by a yarará snake. Can you imagine the answer?
